Each Pharmacy will have its own set of “Sigs”. Some of the most common Sigs are:

# QD -> Take # tablets by mouth every day
# BID -> Take # tablets by mouth twice a day
# TID -> Take # tablets by mouth three times a day
# QID -> Take # tablets by mouth four times a day

# QDXD -> Take # tablets by mouth every day for X days
# BIDXD -> Take # tablets by mouth twice a day for X days
# TIDXD -> Take # tablets by mouth three times a day for X days
# QIDXD -> Take # tablets by mouth four times a day for X days

# QDPRN -> Take # tablets by mouth every day as needed
# BIDPRN -> Take # tablets by mouth twice a day as needed
# TIDPRN -> Take # tablets by mouth three times a day as needed
# QIDPRN -> Take # tablets by mouth four times a day as needed

# QDPRNCG -> Take # tablets by mouth every day as needed for cough
# BIDPRNCG -> Take # tablets by mouth twice a day as needed for cough
# TIDPRNCG -> Take # tablets by mouth three times a day as needed for cough
# QIDPRNCG -> Take # tablets by mouth four times a day as needed for cough

# QDPRNMS -> Take # tablets by mouth every day as needed for muscle spasm
# BIDPRNMS -> Take # tablets by mouth twice a day as needed for muscle spasm
# TIDPRNMS -> Take # tablets by mouth three times a day as needed for muscle spasm
# QIDPRNMS -> Take # tablets by mouth four times a day as needed for muscle spasm

# QDPRNP -> Take # tablets by mouth every day as needed for pain
# BIDPRNP -> Take # tablets by mouth twice a day as needed for pain
# TIDPRNP -> Take # tablets by mouth three times a day as needed for pain
# QIDPRNP -> Take # tablets by mouth four times a day as needed for pain

When typing a sig in for: 1 to 2 (anything) you can use the + sign instead. The + sign stands for “1 to 2″.

Example: 1 to 2 BID x10D

Would be entered as: +BID10D

Which would read: Take 1 to 2 tablets twice a day for 10 days.

I hope this helps you somewhat.
